For this project, we worked hand-in-hand with Hawkins\Brown (an architecture and design firm based in London and Manchester) and SAS (Surfers Against Sewage) to create a space specifically designed to help educate the public on the effects and consequences that litteringhas on our sea’s, and thus how climate change is harming the ocean’s ecosystems worldwide.
Outdoor learning has proven to be an important part of the education system. It allows students to engage in a meaningful way, helping to reduce stress, depleted attention and helps improve immune function.
My design will allow teachers to provide  ‘school days out’ similar to the ‘Forest School’ Initiative that will encouraging children to develop self-awareness; intrinsic motivation; empa- thy; social communication skills; independance and positive mental attitudes and self-confidence.
The rooms provide educational spacs that can be opened up to the elements with large glass sliding doors.
